Came in after the lunch crowd around 3:30. The food was displayed in a cafeteria style. I ordered the pork chops and gravy over rice, with greens and cornbread dressing and cornbread. Food was great, service was delightful and I walked out with a severe case of the itis. BTW, get the kool-aid.... its good too

The homestyle cooking is so nostalgic. The warm welcome, the absolute value, the atmosphere, the kindness of all who greet, serve and help. Absolutely unrivaled, its like taking a walk back in time. Every time I'm in town, Richards Cafe is a must

So glad I was able to try Richard's cafe! The Beef tips were delicious, the gravy was fantastic. I loved the green beans and the sweet cornbread! My dad said it was the best pigs feet he's had in the area! I can't wait to go back and try the meatloaf! The staff is some of the friendliest I've ever encountered! They're wonderful! There's parking lot on the side of the building. Thanks for the delicious lunch!

If you leave here hungery, it's on you! You get two sides with your entree, which you can have on rice or mashed potatoes (the mash potatoes count as one side if you go that route).I really enjoyed the food. Excellent southern cooking. They are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure your happy with your food.We dined in. I did the 4 stars because it was a little dark ( Shoot! I may have had my sunglasses on).I will be glad to go back.

This place never disappoints! The food is very good and it's a big serving! Beef Tips are my usual, along with different vegetables. The rice and gravy are good, too! Can't forget the cornbread either. The employees are also very nice. It's hard to find plate lunches like this around here. Richard's Cafe is one of my favorite places in Beaumont!

Yes. The gravy is dark. And soooo good! Glad I gave this place a try. Will definitely return. We pulled up right at opening and there were already several people ahead of us. Obviously has a strong local following. We tried smothered chops, hamburger steak, and beef tips. The kids immediately liked it. Parking was easy, staff was friendly and fast. The cabbage was already flavored. No hot sauce needed. Mac n cheese, sweet yams, cabbage, cornbread and taters and gravy were all on point in large servings. And the tea is just right. Will definitely return.

WOW!! This is what your Momma wishes she cooked like!! Please do not slap her over this food!!Friendliest staff! Best music! When you walk in it smells like what Heaven must smell like!Southern Soul Food at it's Very Finest!! Thank Y'all for that voodoo that y'all do to that food!!!

Absolutely amazing! I was a bit skeptical when they busted out a ladle of gravy and poured it over the plate of food. I mean, who knew that a river of brown goodness could transform a perfectly good meal into a flavor explosion? It was like my taste buds threw a party, and gravy was the guest of honor!Next time, I’m definitely going to ask for two gravy scoops. Why stop at one when you can drown your food in deliciousness? Richard’s cafe has officially won my heart. If you haven't experienced the joy of gravy-laden goodness, do yourself a favor and head there now.The cake was mighty fine as well!
